Against Sexual Scandal
The "Nation" article "Against Sexual Scandal" by Lauren Berlant is brilliant. It expresses my feelilngs exactly. Whenever there is a sexual scandal, I too feel sorry for sex. I also feel sorry for the person who has been outed for such a basic desire. Personally, I'm far more leary of those righteous folks who never stray beyond the pairbondage of monogamy, never hire a pro for sexual entertainment, or never deviate from heterosexuality. In my opinion, these people are more dangerous. I want my politicians to take regular orgasm breaks so they can make better decisions about the world we all live in. Be sure to read the entire article.

It's not really even a good opportunity for dancing in the streets because one more powerful person has come tumbling down. After all, some powerful people are better than others, and when powerful people fall from the mighty, naughty force of their appetites, nothing about power is changed at all--quite the contrary. The law, the family, marriage--exit polls suggest that all of these will be the winner here, after being horribly maligned by a man who forgot his oaths to honor them.
