I have read a few articles about female circumcision (the removal of the clitoral hood) and am interested in finding an experienced (preferably female) M.D. to consult with regarding this procedure. I am hoping that you can direct me to information and/or referrals. I live in Fresno, California, but the San Francisco or Los Angeles areas are within traveling distance for me. Dear Carrie, Although I don't know why you want to remove the clitoral hood, I personally would not recommend doing it. A friend of mine had it done in the hopes it would make her more orgasmic during intercourse. After the healing process took place she still couldn't come with her boyfriend and her clit was too sensitive to go near for a long time.
