I am new to masturbating and would love to try it more, but I get a really bad cramp in my left thigh pretty early on in any session. It doesn't make the experience very enjoyable. I try to relax, but that doesn't seem to stop the cramp. It's really painful. I must be doing something wrong, but even when I try to switch things up, it still happens. Help!

Dear Pieta,
It sounds to me like you're depending upon muscle tension to increase your sexual arousal and that means holding your leg tight for an extended length of time. The idea is to flex (tighten) the muscle and then release it (relax) and then tighten it again. Flex and release. Flex and release. This is how the body normally functions as we move about. Try standing up and watching yourself in a mirror. Experiment with some hot sexual fantasies to increase desire. Use different positions. Get my book "Sex for One" which will inspire you to try new things. You might want to see a massage therapist or some other kind of body worker and get their observation. By all means, be patient and keep practicing.
