Awarded every five years, The Obelisk Award, named for
publisher Jack Kahane whose Obelisk Press in Paris
published the early works of legendary authors such as
Henry Miller, Anais Nin, and James Joyce, honors a
lifetime of extraordinary achievement in the writing
and or publishing of erotic literature in English or
English translation.
Our mission with the EAA is to recognize and honor
literary excellence and artistic vision in all areas
of erotic writing and publishing, and help raise the
profile of the genre in the public's awareness. We are
dedicated to enhancing the professional environment
the erotica writer encounters, through our annual
awards for literary merit and by providing grants and
prize money to help nurture the creative erotic voice
in deserving individuals.
